Dalrymple Vineyards traces its story back to the late 20th century in the Pipers River region of Tasmania. The founders believed this remote area possessed something special: the perfect combination of cool maritime climate, long ripening seasons, and mineral rich soils that Pinot Noir demands. While many wine regions struggle to tame the grape’s notoriously temperamental nature, Pipers River offers the gentle balance of sunshine and chill that Pinot Noir thrives on. Over the years, Dalrymple became one of the region’s pioneering producers, helping establish Tasmania as one of the Southern Hemisphere’s most exciting homes for premium Pinot Noir.
Tasting Notes
Aromas of spices, black plum and licorice, with hints of black olive, cranberries, blueberries and cassis. The richness of fruit on the palate becomes assisted by a pure natural acidity and fine tannins.
This Pinot Noir is a blend of Pipers River, Coal River Valley and our growers in Swansea and Ouse. Each of these vineyards is unique with distinctive individual terroirs, bringing complexity to the final blend is created.
