Cherubino Folklore Chardonnay: A Story in Every Sip
In the world of wine, some bottles whisper while others sing. The Cherubino Folklore Chardonnay does both it begins with a gentle introduction, then builds into a chorus of flavour that lingers long after the glass is empty. This is not just a Chardonnay. It is a tribute to the land, the people and the stories that shape Western Australia’s wine country.
Origins
The Folklore range is the brainchild of Larry Cherubino, one of Australia’s most decorated winemakers. After years of globe trotting as a corporate winemaker, Larry returned home to Western Australia with a vision: to create wines that reflect the soul of the region. Together with his wife Edwina, whose family has deep roots in the Frankland River area dating back to the 1800s, Larry launched Cherubino Wines in 2005. What began in a spare room with a single wine has grown into one of the most respected names in Australian wine, with vineyards stretching across Margaret River, Pemberton and Porongurup.
Tasting
The Folklore Chardonnay is sourced from estate vineyards in Margaret River and Frankland River—two regions known for their cool climate and pristine fruit. The wine is fermented in seasoned French oak and matured for ten months, allowing it to develop texture and complexity without losing its vibrant character.
In the glass, the Folklore Chardonnay is bright and mid weighted. Aromas of citrus blossom, white peach and a hint of flint rise gently from the glass. On the palate, it is crisp and clean, with layers of lemon curd, stone fruit and a subtle creamy texture from the oak. The finish is long and refreshing, with a mineral edge that speaks of the cool southern soils.

Awards and Accolades
While the Folklore range is designed to be approachable and great value, Cherubino Wines has also received over sixty trophies and more than two hundred and fifty gold medals across Australian and international wine shows. James Halliday has awarded the winery a five star rating, naming it Winery of the Year in 2011 and Best Value Winery in 2016
