Description
Dense and concentrated nose with blackcurrants, blueberries and boysenberries. Full of energy and vitality with elegant shape and frame - black and blue fruits dominate the palate. Generosity, layers and contours surround the palate. Density of dark forest fruits combine with cacao, cracked coffee and anise. Vibrancy and energy is underlined with a mineral and graphite acid line and delicate elegant finish.
A delicate fragrant lift of violets, lavender offer beautiful symmetry and balance. Laced beneath complex spices of cumin, clove, black cardamom and star anise, surrounded by an oceanic nuance throughout.
"The 2019 Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon has admirable fruit presence in the mouth. As an immediate follow on from the great 2018 vintage, the 2019 vintage was cooler and weter, but the average quality across the region was excellent. In many corners, the quality is argued as being on par with the 2019; it comes down to a mater of preference. Here, the wine is elegant and fine, very aromatic. It's an excellent wine and a clear statement about the direction and refinement of the Cabernet program at Leeuwin."

“Gosh this is good. This is the region and the variety and the estate all committing to the task and combining to exemplary effect. Such structure, such fruit, such balance and such impact. Blackcurrant and pencils, dark chocolate and herbs, some eucalypt lift and even some florals. Tannin, my word, it’s beautifully formed, a keel with wings, a determinant. I kept tasting this wine and it kept telling me things. Leeuwin Estate cabernet is now right up there with the best.”
